Industrial Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP'S)

Industrial facilities engaged in activities defined in 40 CFR must obtain permit coverage for stormwater discharges to waters of the United States through either an individual industrial SPDES permit, the SPDES Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP-0-12-001) for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Industrial Activity, or provide certification using the No Exposure Exclusion. The MSGP addresses stormwater runoff from certain industrial activities. This permit requires facilities to develop Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP’s) and report the results of industry-specific monitoring to the NYSDEC. Typical components of an industrial SWPPP include:

  • MSGP (GP-0-12-001)
  • Notice of Intent (NOI) and Notice of Termination (NOT) Forms
  • Potential Pollutant Sources
  • Stormwater Controls
  • Non-Stormwater Discharges
  • Monitoring and Reporting Requirements

  • Integrated Waste Shultz Landfill, Inc. (IWSLI)
